When we have already unpacked our bags and cardboard boxes with books, and students on the first year of their studies have known the address of the university, it’s time to celebrate Mater Admirabilis. She makes us think of prayers and deeds, contemplation and action. She takes care of all pupils and youth in our Society, so we want to ask her to look after girls in our dormitory: their families and friends, studies, apostolic initiatives, voluntary services and social commitment.

The central point of our celebration was the Eucharist, led by Grzegorz Dąbkowicz OP, a priest responsible for students in the ministry of Dominicans. He talked in his homily: about God’s invitation and human freedom of giving an answer; about joy which springs out from the experience of fullness if someone lives in accordance with his vocation; and about the importance of taking risks and making decisions. We all met in the chapel of the community of sisters Sacré Coeur on the first floor. After the blessing we went upstairs to the chapel in the dormitory to admire Jesus who is present in the Blessed Sacrament.

It’s worth mentioning that in this academic year among us we have a strong music group: Natalia Czetowicz and Asia Roman playing the guitar, Magda Morawska – violin, Asia Mleczak, Ola Ziska and Agata Kaczmarek with beautiful, strong voices encouraged all to worship God by singing. We are grateful for that wonderful musical setting.

We continued our celebration in TV room with cakes and salads prepared by girls. We had time to talk, to tell one another about communities girls are engaged in and to have a lot of fun during integration games prepared by Alicja Wuczyńska. It’s like a custom that girls who have been living here longer prepare integration for new girls that started to live with us and to build the community of the dormitory.
